Sergiy Stakhovsky, a former Ukrainian tennis professional has decided to leave his family to fight against Russia.
The tennis player told CNN that he decided to return to his country because he would like Ukraine to still be on the map.
“It was not an easy decision… If I were to stay home, I would feel guilty for not coming back. And now that I’m here, I feel guilty for leaving them at home”He said.
He added that another reason he decided to fight is because in the future, there will be a story to tell to his children.
“I was born here, my grandparents are buried here. And I would love to have a story to tell my kids. If I stayed home and Ukraine failed, then there would be no Ukraine, not even in the history books He said.
The tennis player added that the lies of the Russian president will be turned into history books.
