UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced that he had arrived in Ukraine on Wednesday, a day after visiting Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I arrived in Ukraine after visiting Moscow. We will continue our efforts to expand humanitarian support and provide evacuation to those from war zones. “The sooner this war ends, the better for Ukraine, for Russia and for the world.” he wrote on his Twitter account.
On April 26, Guterres stayed in Moscow, where in addition to meeting with Putin, he also met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The UN chief called on Moscow to reach a ceasefire agreement, allow the evacuation of civilians from war zones and end the war as soon as possible.
He also met with Putin that the Russian occupation of Ukraine, which began on February 24, is a flagrant violation of the territorial integrity of this state.
