West Ham United have condemned Kurt Zouma after the release of a video showing the French defender kicking and hitting his cat.
Essex police are contacting the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and say “urgent investigations have begun”. Zouma has apologized, while the club has indicated that it will deal with the problem from within.
“I want to apologize for my actions. There is no excuse for my behavior, of which I sincerely regret. I also want to say how sorry I am for anyone who got bored of the video. I would like to assure everyone that my two cats are very well and healthy. “They have the love of our family and this behavior was an isolated incident that will not happen again,” the player said in a statement to the media.
