About two million children have fled Ukraine since the start of the war to this day, much of which accounts for half the total number of refugees.
It is reported that 1.1 million have arrived in Poland alone while hundreds of thousands more have fled to nearby countries such as Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
UNICEF has recently warned of an increased risk of child trafficking and exploitation. The UN agency, in an effort to eliminate these risks is adding ‘specific points’ that are safe for the movement of children.
During 1 month of war, UNICEF reports that there are more than 100 children killed and more than 130 wounded. More than 2.5 million children have been displaced inside Ukraine.
