The Russian military has said it has launched a series of attacks on military targets in Ukraine, using hypersonic missiles which are considered more maneuverable than conventional missiles and are better able to evade air defense interception.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement that Caliber cruise missiles were launched from the Caspian Sea and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles were launched over Crimean airspace.
