The administration of US President Joe Biden has announced new restrictions on investment in Russia, which prohibit Americans from buying Russian shares.
This sanction is the latest financial pressure that America has placed on Russia in support of Ukraine.
According to the US Treasury Department, US citizens will be allowed to sell Russian shares to foreign nationals and will not be required to give up valuable Russian documents.
U.S. investors can also still invest in U.S. funds that hold Russian-owned securities, as long as those Russian properties are not the bulk of the fund’s assets.
