So far, we have carried out over 14 thousand vaccinations “, said Manastirliu.
The Minister of Health said that the vaccination of all medical staff is expected to be completed by March 15.
“All doctors and nurses finish vaccination by March 15. Because there are also doctors, nurses, who are practically being evaluated as having passed it and can do it in a second phase. So a dynamic assessment is being made. “More than 11 thousand vaccinations have been performed for doctors and nurses”, said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the continuation of the vaccination process, Manastirliu said that with the arrival of AstraZeneca vaccines, the vaccination of teachers will begin.
“We will start with the teachers. There will be a vaccination, as we thought, in schools. Therefore, we are selecting the nurses who start the training within this week “, said Manastirliu.
Over 32 thousand Pfizer vaccines have arrived in Albania so far, while it is expected to continue the supply from the direct contract with Pfizer, during the month of March, April and onwards. Meanwhile, through the COVAX instrument, 14,400 AstraZeneca vaccines are expected to arrive within the first two weeks of March and efforts are underway to provide additional doses of vaccines.
