The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj received in a meeting the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, who visited our country for the first time in the capacity of the head of the IOC, together with the member of the Executive Committee, the Ukrainian record athlete, Sergei Bubka. Veliaj, who donated the “Tirana Clock Tower” to the senior official of the Olympic Committee, expressed confidence that this visit will serve as another meeting point of joint projects in the field of sports.
“I am very happy today that the President of the World Olympic Committee, my friend Tomas, and the famous Sergei Bubka, as well as the fantastic team coming from the Olympic Committee, are in Tirana to support Fidel, as well as our boys and girls. of the Olympic Committee. The President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, who presented the Mayor of Tirana with one of the 300 commemorative medals of the Tokyo Olympic Games, said:

Addressing the Olympic champion, Sergei Bubka, Veliaj said that Albania will always be with the Ukrainians to support them, but especially the sports contingent located in our country.
