Veliaj closed his speech by saying that the capital produces today about half of the national GDP. “Today we are in a situation where, according to the latest statistics of INSTAT and the Bank of Albania, the economy of Tirana is as large as the whole of Albania in 2006. So, only one city in 61 municipalities produces all the economy that our country produced in 2006 Today we are over 48% of the country’s GDP.
