Mayor Erion Veliaj is determined to advance the project for the construction of the new neighborhood on “5 May, despite the protests of residents whose houses are being demolished.
The protest, Veliaj said, is led by people with a criminal record.
Do a Google search with the words ‘Brothers Mark / OFL’, you will see that those who said today that they would kill the mayor, have already been seized 5 million euros of property and 18 cars. How is it possible that someone who is a listed criminal can threaten anyone, including the mayor, or the police force, or the inspectors, or those who are to serve the public? The time when the lacy, the strong, the occupier, the criminal, the trafficker made the law in this city, is over. It no longer exists “, said Veliaj.
No trafficker or criminal stressed the mayor of Tirana, can stop the work started there to shelter families affected by the earthquake of November 26, 2019.
“Who is the strongest in this city?” The robber, the occupier, the intimidator, the criminal, the trafficker or that boy and girl who comes out with tithes, who works honestly ?! As long as I am mayor, no compromise! I have seen it all, with the media, even drug traffickers, even these portals that impose fines, we must move forward and give the message that in 2022, lawlessness, rogue, criminal, the trafficker does not set the agenda of the city. The agenda of the city, especially this year, will be set by our young people, the excellent boys and girls of Tirana, who do not owe anyone “, said Veliaj.
According to the Municipality of Tirana, residents affected by the construction of the new neighborhood in the area of ”5 May” will be compensated 100% for their property.
