Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha spoke harshly to the Albanian Guard, after testifying at the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office this Thursday about the violent January 8 protest.
According to him, the Garda agreed to protect the killers of the DP leader, Lulzim Basha, emphasizing that there is evidence that there were armed persons inside the blue headquarters on Saturday.
“The issue that I raised mas strong as it is possible that the same weapons of Edi Rama’s narco-government were used by Lulzim Brava’s gang. The names of the mercenaries have been partially banned by the prosecution, the problem is that Lulzim Brava took the weapons out of the headquarters with his vehicle, as you know there is flagrant evidence of the presence of armed people in the headquarters. “There are photos, but not only photos, so there is no one who doubts, who questions the presence of this large group in the headquarters as guards of Lul Brava, another moment that compromises, that proves the crime of Lulzim Brava is the guard”, said Berisha.
According to Berisha, the Garda can not stand in defense of Basha, because he is no longer the leader of the opposition and that he keeps murderers and bandits.
“Lulzim Brava is against the laws of the country, he is protected by the guard, he is not the leader of the opposition. You can never stand in defense of a man holding murderers and thugs. None of this is political. A guard officer who guards a personality and he holds the killer, they should say I do not. Can the guard officer be surrounded by killers ?! He is super cowardly and murderous. Fundamentalists are crime-related persons, coming from Syria, are mercenaries. They defended Lulzim Brava. “Here the attitude of the guard, the admission of the killers by the guard is a serious crime.”, he added.
Chief Prosecutor Elizabeta Imeraj, who is in charge of the investigation, and prosecutor Elio Mazreku sought the testimony of the former DP leader and his supporter Flamur Noka this Wednesday in connection with January 8th.
Tomorrow, Lulzim Basha and Gazment Bardhi from the opposing camp will appear before the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office.
The protest called by Seli Berisha at the PD headquarters, started at noon on January 8 and his supporters gave signs that the continuation would be violent. They started cursing and insulting all the deputies who supported Basha.
Roland Bejko, a member of the leadership of this political force, found himself in the same situation and was hit while trying to enter the blue headquarters, while Berisha’s supporters forced him to leave.
Sali Berisha arrived exactly around 12:00 in the yard of the Democratic Party, while Lulzim Basha to avoid incidents entered the headquarters at 08:00.
The mission of the protesters was clear, to enter at all costs into the blue headquarters. They were only able to enter the first floor and tried unsuccessfully to dismantle the armored doors leading to the second floor.
The attempt to get the headquarters continued from the outside through the stairs. Those who wanted to make the entrance through the windows, where they were confronted with tear gas thrown from inside the PD headquarters.
The determination to take over the headquarters was concentrated on a side door using levers and hammers. From the only cracks they could make, they got back a huge amount of gas released from the inside.
After more than two hours of protest, the police intervention at the request of the DP caused the protesters to disperse, while Berisha was inside the headquarters.
Afterwards, Berisha left in the direction of the Prime Minister, where he announced the dispersal of the protest.
Meanwhile, the Tirana Court on Wednesday decided to release from prison 34 detainees of the violent protest of January 8 at the headquarters of the Democratic Party.
Among other things, the DP leadership permanently expelled Sali Berisha and his supporters from the Democratic Party.
In a marathon meeting of the presidency, the decision was made to expel the members of the Re-establishment Commission of the Democratic Party, Bujar Nishani, Flamur Noka, Albana Vokshi, Edmond Spaho, Arben Ristani, Rigels Muçollari, Klevis Balliu and Keltis Kruja.
Meanwhile, the following deputies have been suspended: Agron Shehaj, Aldo Bumçi, Belind Kelliçi, Blendi Himci, Çlirim Gjata, Edit Harxhi, Edi Paloka, Eno Bozdo, Ervin Minarolli, Gent Deromemaj, Genc Pollo, Genti Strazimiri, Rigels Mucollari, Ivi Mando , Luan Baci, Lorenc Luka, Mimoza Hajdarmataj, Oerd Bylykbashi and Tritan Shehu.
