The UK has sent tens of thousands of medical supplies to help Ukraine, which is facing ongoing Russian attacks.
UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid said 50,000 items were shipped Sunday night and a second supply of protective equipment was launched this morning.
He added that further aid is expected to be sent in the future, staying close to the Ukrainian people.
“This horrific act has created a humanitarian emergency and we are looking at every opportunity to give the people of Ukraine the support they so desperately need. On Sunday evening, we shipped almost 50,000 items of medical supplies to Poland by air for further shipment to Ukraine. Another plane departed at 7am this morning with more supplies, including medical equipment and PPE. We are amazed at the bravery and heroism shown by the Ukrainian people and rest assured that we all stand with them, side by side, in their hour of need“, Said Javid.
