Well-known artist, Hueyda El Saied passed away in November last year after she could not survive a serious illness that affected her recently.
Her husband Thierry Grosjean spoke to “Wake Up” about why Hueyda never talked about the disease. Among other things, he told how they got the news that she was suffering from breast cancer and tried to fight for herself, her son and her partner.
Thierry: There is a reason for this and the main one is that it was Hueyda’s decision not to share it. She did not want people to feel sorry for her and feel bad for her. I understand she is a friend to her fans and all over the world but for her it was very important to be focused on the recovery process and the fight against this disease.
That was why Hueyda kept her fight against the disease a secret and shared it only with her immediate family circle. It was not easy. At first I was there when we got the doctor’s notice of the disease. He was a friend to us. Just after a few hours, Hueyda said, it’s terrible news but I will face the disease and fight for myself, for Gabriel and for you Thierry.
She found strength and concentration only after a few hours. Yes, she started the process when we got the announcement in July 2020 and during those 18 months, she was constantly fighting and was very brave. I am very proud of her, not only me but all the doctors and nurses were proud of her fight. She was a real warrior, a lioness, my lioness.
