Rescue crews have released footage of the moment two babies were pulled alive from the rubble of a building in Kentucky, following the devastating tornado that struck the US state a week ago.
Their grandmother had put the children in a bathtub to protect them. She had gathered them there with blankets and had placed a Bible with her.
The bathtub was uprooted from the house during the storm, ended up in the garden, but despite the violent blow, the children – one 15 months old, the other 3, escaped without any major injuries.
The two boys reunited with their grandmother before being taken to hospital for checkups. Tornadoes killed at least 76 people in Kentucky last week, destroying dozens of homes.
The miracle with the two boys was not repeated in the case of Missouri, when the parents who tried to save their three daughters from the tornado were put in the same bathtub, but the eldest of them died while the others were injured.
