A mother of three in Britain has taken a man hostage and then tortured him for more than 12 hours after making false allegations that he abused her daughter.
Sarah Davies, 33, made the allegations against her ex-boyfriend Mark Kennedy, whom she tortured by throwing hot water on her head and extinguishing cigarettes in her arm.
He was taken from her by his car, with a plastic bag and towel on his head, at which time he said “I believed I was going to die”.
Davies had initially asked Kennedy to pay for a cosmetic surgery she was seeking to perform after learning she would receive an inheritance payment.
She later accused him of harassing her two-year-old daughter, on charges that so far have proved unfounded.
During the hostage-taking Kennedy was hit in the head with an iron rod and was threatened with having his throat cut and buried in the swamp if he did not admit to abusing the hostage-taking girls.
Davies and a male friend of hers who had assisted her had tried to get a video admission from Kennedy as he was beaten and tortured with lighted cigarettes.
Kennedy was later released and ordered to hand over 10,000 10,000, but he had gone to the police.
The victim, in his 40s, said in a statement to the police: “During my abduction, I was forced to endure terrible, degrading things, even though I had not done anything that was accused of me, as an excuse to hurt me.”
I was terrified and shivering when they yelled at me. They put a towel on my head and I did not know what would happen next. “I thought they would kill me but they threw hot water on my head and I screamed.”
“They threatened to kill me and bury me in the swamp. All I could think about was my family.”
Yesterday in Manchester court, Davies, from Salford, admitted hostage-taking and blackmail and was sentenced to six years and four months in prison.
Collaborator Steven Wynnyk, 41, of Oldham, was jailed for nine years for kidnapping, blackmail and bodily harm.
The court was told that Kennedy had been living with Davies since June and together they had forced Kennedy to withdraw pa 150 on the vending machine for Davies to perform the ‘lip puff’ intervention.
Prosecutor Robert Dudley said: “Mr Kennedy was slapped when he refused and Davies accused him of accusing his daughter of being a pedophile and a pervert.”
“The complainant was poured water on her head and ordered to admit to sexual abuse.”
“Both defendants knew that Mr. Kennedy was expecting an inheritance from his father and threatened him with a knife that was stabbed in the throat,” the indictment added before the verdict was handed down.
