“It is an extraordinary joy that the Albanian Cup in men’s volleyball returns to the white and blue house after 26 years. Thank you guys, I greatly appreciate your dedication. Our commitment has been worth it – we have a new leadership in SK Tirana, but we also have new investments, such as “Fahrije Hoti”. The reward comes when boys and girls bring results. Investing is like throwing a good seed in the field – if you plow it, you will have a product. “When you invest in both human resources and finances, the cups do not delay”, underlined the mayor.

Veliaj said that this result should be maintained not only in volleyball, but also for other sports, emphasizing football.

“Now that the Tirana Football Association was recognized by the court, but also the federation accepted that verdict, we will deal seriously with football in Tirana. What happens outside Tirana, everyone has to make their own battles, but we here, our teams fanatically guard them, fund them with dedication and of course, feel a special pleasure. “Almost every week one of our teams has brought a cup to Tirana”, underlined Veliaj.

The Mayor said that the Municipality of Tirana will make all school gyms available to talented young people.

We opened 14 schools, we have about 10-12 that we will open this year, including the icing on the cake – the gymnasium “Sami Frashëri”. We want to make their gyms available to chain teams. We should not be satisfied with having an elite team, we should also look at the teams under 16 years old, 12 years old, 10 years old, and so on, to make sure that we enrich the team and think about the next generation of Tirana, no just for this year, where we are the European Youth Capital. Therefore, we want to make available some of the super quality school gyms, which have almost the same quality as our model hall “Fahrie Hoti” “, concluded Veliaj.
