Speaking at a news conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said about 1,300 Ukrainian troops had been killed since the beginning of the Russian occupation.
He also claimed that about 500-600 Russian troops had surrendered to Ukrainian forces on Friday.
According to The Guardian, Zelenskiy said Ukrainian and Russian negotiating teams had begun discussing concrete topics instead of exchanging ultimatums.
He further called on Western countries to become more involved in the negotiations to end the war on the innocent Ukrainian people.
