The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky has held a virtual meeting in Zoom with 50 US senators, once again bringing to attention the possibility of blocking Ukrainian airspace by the US and NATO allies.
Zelensky also urged them to stop using Russian oil.
The American media report that the senators have been interested in listening carefully to the Ukrainian president, but have not given guarantees for taking certain measures that the Ukrainian president demands.
The leader of the Democratic majority in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, vowed before Zelensky that he would do everything he can to help Ukraine overcome the difficulties it is facing.
On the other hand, Schumer called on American businesses in Russia to withdraw as soon as possible from Moscow or other cities where they operate.
This call was joined by other prominent senators such as Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker or Amy Klëbuchar.
However, Zelensky has continued to call for more concrete measures, such as a “no fly zone” or a boycott of Russian products.
However, referring to the American media, the senators did not give any guarantees.
