The announcement of the new aid came after President Biden had a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he spoke to coordinate the delivery of aid.
“This new aid package will contain many of the most effective weapons systems with new capabilities adapted to the wider attack we expect Russia to launch in eastern Ukraine.” tha Biden.
US President Joe Biden said the US will continue to work with allies to help Ukraine with weapons and other aid.
Earlier, President Biden also escalated anti-Russian rhetoric, accusing President Vladimir Putin of orchestrating a “genocide” in Ukraine.
He has repeatedly criticized Putin, publicly calling him a “war criminal” and calling for him to stand trial after evidence of atrocities was uncovered in Bucha, on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital.
