The protests of the citizens damaged by the earthquake in the city of Durrës have returned.
While the reconstruction process is continuing throughout the municipality, residents of a 12-storey building have protested in front of the municipality of Durres, this morning, seeking to return to their homes. For this object there are two different expertise from the Construction Institute on the level of damage.
One of the experts estimates that the apartments can be repaired by the residents themselves through the reconstruction grant and the municipality will repair the common premises of the building, while the other assessment reveals a high damage that could lead to the demolition of the building.
Residents fear plans to demolish the palace for the interests of third parties, while they have benefited from the damage repair grant and continue to receive the rent bonus as well.
Citizens appeal to the municipality for another technical assessment of the facility and full transparency regarding the reconstruction process.
