Chief of General Staff Bajram Begaj could be Ilir Meta’s successor and head the state for the next five years.
In 2020, Bajram Begaj took on the role of Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces. He previously served as Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Chief of the Military Medical Unit, Director of the Health Inspectorate and Chief Inspector and Advisor of the Health Inspectorate at the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces.
Bajram Begaj is an associate professor of medicine. He is married to Armanda Begaj, they have two grown children.
