During this period, according to the notification of the Authority, the three fined companies violated the law on protection of competition by simultaneously setting the selling prices of the chemical fertilizers dap, nitrate and urea by dividing the markets.
The denunciation that the fertilizer market has turned into a cartel and that companies are controlling the market has been made continuously by former Deputy Prime Minister Erion Brace.
Even in Thursday’s plenary session, Brace asked the Ministry of Agriculture several times in a row to take emergency measures to reduce the prices of agricultural inputs, including chemical fertilizers, as this, according to him, is hitting farmers.
