Alibeaj’s platform gets the majority of PD deputies in front of Berisha

In the conditions when Sali Berisha has received only the keys of the PD offices, the Alibeaj platform aims to start the union from the party base.

‘The acts of union must be concrete, and above all they must show that the Democratic Party has no excess of any of its members. In every process, in every structure, it is necessary to evaluate and preserve the contribution and meritocracy of everyone in the DP. ‘

But the culmination of Alibeaj’s statement was the reading of the list of 31 deputies who signed it, as well as the officialization of the list of the majority of the group, against Sali Berisha.

“It has been concluded in a position that constitutes a platform of principles for the unification of the Democrats, proposed so far by the vast majority of the deputies of the Parliamentary Group.”

A little later, MP Xhelal Mëziu joined this list, saying that “I join the list of MPs and support this platform as the right path for every democrat and Albanian, for a European Albania tomorrow.” The signatures of 32 MPs in favor of this platform officially show for the first time which of the two Berisha-Basha camps we control the parliamentary group. DP in the Albanian parliament has 52 deputies. Most of whom line up with Basha’s successor Enkelejd Alibeaj. Only 15 deputies continue to remain loyal to the Rithemel of the Democratic Party initiated by Sali Berisha. While the third group of 5 deputies stay in the neutral zone with neither Alibeaj nor Berisha. In such conditions, the only victory of the PD re-establishment is the acquisition and new furnishing of the offices in the building of the former Central Army House. Alibeaj showed that in addition to 6 points of this platform there have been additional proposals.

Colleagues Agron Gjekmarkaj, Ferdinand Xhaferraj, etc., had an additional proposal to specify in their position that Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha can not run for the position of party chairman. “There were some colleagues who wanted to specify that Sali Berisha could not be part of the parliamentary group, or two other colleagues who wanted to specify that Sali Berisha should return to the Parliamentary Group.”
