Olena Kiyashko was born on February 6, 1978 in Kryvyi Rih. She and her future husband went to the same high school, but they had never met. Many of her classmates, according to Zelensky, he knew, but not his partner himself.
They met much later when Olena was a student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Kryvyi Rih National University. The couple’s relationship progressed over time; they remained engaged for eight years before being married on September 6, 2003.
Oleksandra, their daughter, was born on July 15, 2004. Zelensky gave birth to their son Kyrylo on January 21, 2013.
