Public opinion in Greece and local and foreign media are following with great interest the trial of 33-year-old pilot Babis Anagnostopoulos.
Earlier, he was found guilty by an Athens court of murdering his wife Caroline Krouch, 20, a year ago at his home on the outskirts of Athens.
The court ruling has been unanims: guilty of premeditated murder.
The accused did not react during the announcement of the verdict.
Judges and lawyers concluded after a two-hour hearing that the 33-year-old pilot should be convicted of premeditated murder, animal cruelty and violating the law on false charges for having made persistent false deposition.
The court has rejected the request for the claim that the murder was committed in a moment of mental explosion and the issue of mitigation of sentences is currently being discussed, which will come out soon.
