After the meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha declared that the National Assembly convened by Sali Berisha today, was nothing more than a manifestation of the former Prime Minister against the United States.
Basha stressed that no statement issued by this rally has anything to do with the DP and the elected institutions of the DP, while announcing that the meeting of the National Council tomorrow will be held at 15:00.
Basha: Today should have been a holiday for the DP but this birthday is broken. Today is not a good day for the DP and Albanian democracy either. 31 years after its founding, we witnessed Berisha’s personal manifestation against the USA. We let every Democrat know that this was his last desperate and shameful attempt to take the DP hostage and turn it into a bunker of his own personal interests.
No statement issued by this rally has anything to do with the DP and the elected DP institutions. In response to the falsifications, the DP leadership has decided to convene an extraordinary meeting of the National Council tomorrow at 15:00.
Proposal for the extraordinary call of the National Council to vote
- a special resolution on the situation created in the DP.
- By secret ballot, the dismissal of the chairman of the national council (edi paloka) of the members of the presidency who have violated the decision of the presidency to convene the National Assembly, as well as the chairmen of the branches of the Democratic Party.
- Proposal for the dismissal of 4 secretaries to make the secretariat functional.
