Democratic Party MP, Ina Zhupa is holding an interpellation in the Assembly today with the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti for the Butrini project.
According to Zhupa, Butrint is being divided into several parts and is being given to private individuals on concession.
“They want to divide Butrint into 2 pieces. In the ancient city, where tickets are paid to give it on concession. They want to give part of the national park to the resorts. “How is it possible for the state to give up the protection of cultural heritage and hand it over to a private one?”
According to Margarit, the Butrint project is in line with cultural heritage law. The money earned from Buntrint Park will be spent there, says the Minister of Culture.
“For the first time, the Burint box office will contribute to the cultural heritage fund, to help other sites. “Every penny of Butrint will remain in Butrint.”
Zhupa talks about the lack of criteria for the administration of the park, while Margariti answers that “we have consulted 80 Albanian experts and collaborators”.
Zhupa: Sit is possible that our state says that the current administration of Buitrint has failed due to the incompetence of the administration. Why do not they set criteria regarding the administration, by appointing professionals, by creating boards with Albanian professor members. But if they put a political administration and with incompetent people, then we should give a concession to the Ministry of Culture.
