Integration of ecological and sustainable issues in business processes; social activity with pronounced positive effects in the country; full involvement of staff in all aspects of environmental management; innovation to generate income and support the economy and employment in the country; the tendency to share a model of virtuous development with other organizations: for these reasons, the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj awarded the important prize “Key of Tirana” to the president of Coca-Cola Bottling Albania Luca Busi.
“The key of Tirana” is the highest symbol that Tirana gives to those who have contributed and contribute to the development and growth of the country. An award that testifies to the 28-year presence of CCBS in Albania, which in all these years has actively participated in creating positive change, inspiring the Albanian community and above all the new generations.
Lively and creative, the Albanian capital in recent years has opened up to the world, facing and overcoming the transition period unpredictably: “Albania is our home – underlined President Busi – and with the official handover of the” Key to Tirana “- a symbol of a common ground where action plans and objectives are shared – we will try to open many doors to the future. A future consisting of investments, sustainable development and public / private cooperation projects ”.
Mayor Veliaj thanked President Busi for his personal commitment and for what CCBS has done in recent years, as the first major global investor in the early 1990s – from a truly critical moment for a country that had begun to regain its freedom. his – becoming a pioneer of greenery and launching an important development plan.
“I want to thank the Mayor but also the entire Albanian community, who have offered us a great hospitality, accelerating all the integration processes of our company. “We were pioneers in building a business model from which the whole country has benefited and we will continue with a lot of dedication and passion, to invest above all in human capital.”
“On this occasion I would like to briefly underline three things: first, Coca-Cola’s global mission is primarily to transfer happiness and hope to communities, through unique products, but also through an ongoing commitment to social responsibility. . This is what we have been doing for some time in Albania: to find a path that leads to sustainability and that is accessible to all. Secondly, we are witnessing a dynamism dictated by young people and their enthusiasm, and we are really proud to be able to contribute to the transformation of Tirana into the “Youth Capital”, with programs dedicated to the younger generations.
Finally, I want to emphasize the extraordinary Albanian spirit: I am sure that in the coming years this city will become more and more a place of welcome and cultural exchange for Italian youth. As an “ambassador”, I will undertake – as I have done so far – to promote “best practices” through social initiatives, employment, investment, socio-cultural events. On the environmental front, our efforts will continue to reduce emissions and increase performance: with the expansion of the “Green Mobility Project” (100% electric vehicles for sales teams) – concluded Luca Busi – increasing the conversion of rPET bottles, and the operation of “Photovoltaic Panels with renewable energy”, which make it possible to cover the entire plant – 10,680 m2 – with photovoltaic panels. An ambitious program that will see us on the first front, which we will continue to enrich with new initiatives and projects and which will culminate with the important goal of becoming the first company with zero emissions in Albania “.
“We are proud to be part of the great Albanian family and we will keep the ‘Key to Tirana’, with the awareness of the strategic role that CCBS will continue to have in the coming years.”
