French Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera stated that Liverpool fans without valid tickets caused problems with the crowds in the Champions League football final, held in Paris.
Real Madrid won the final against Liverpool with a score of 1: 0. The minister blamed the “mass organizations” of supporters with “fake tickets” for the chaos in the stadium. But she claimed that local youths who tried to force their way into the stadium worsened the situation.
Liverpool fans have criticized the response of the police in France, and the British Secretary of Culture, Nadine Dorries, described the scenes as extremely “disturbing”. French police have been criticized for throwing tear gas and pepper spray at some Liverpool fans as they waited to enter the stadium.
The latest comments came shortly after today’s meeting between the French Ministry of Sport, the European Football Federation, the French Football Association, stadium officials, and police to learn from the organization’s mistakes.
The French minister said that in Monday’s meeting the mistakes will be identified to avoid them in the future. Earlier, social networks were filled with comments from fans who wrote that Paris should follow the example of Tirana, for the way it organized the final on May 25, where there were no problems.
“You could do it in Tirana, everything was ready ;, France total chaos, next year do it in Tirana. In Tirana it was the perfect organism, shame “, were some of the comments.
