Friday finally brought half good news for Lulzim Basha.
A decision by the Tirana Court accepted the statutory changes made after the July Assembly.
Judge Blerina Muça agreed to record the July 17th statutory changes, but the other half of the news is debatable. These statutory changes relate to the era, before Sali Berisha challenged Basha’s leadership with a parallel document approved by the December 11 Assembly.
An Assembly that in parallel created another DP, not new, but re-established. The Democratic constitution, which received the court’s approval this Friday, does not include the statutory changes made in the December 18 Assembly which sanctioned the exclusion from party bodies of persons declared non-women in addition to the PD lawyer’s request for an addition to the building.
These changes are again on the table of the Court of Tirana, together with the statutory changes of the Re-establishment Commission. But if one can call Friday’s decision a half-positive signal for Basha, Berisha supporters think otherwise.
““The only thing that attracts attention in this case is the violation of the law by the court for not reviewing these requests, within the 30-day deadline required by law.”according to Ristan.
Other decisions are not known when they will be taken by the Court of Tirana. But while Berisha’s supporters note that the court is violating the decision-making deadlines, Basha’s supporters see good news here again. Again a victory like the others of the DP chairman. A victory on paper, that gives him, an extra breath.
Berisha’s new political house seems indifferent to court decisions. his supporters have launched a selection process for local leaders.
But an instruction dated March 11 of the Re-establishment Commission is also being challenged by those who do not recognize Basha as chairman. Edvin Kulluri participated in Berisha’s Assembly, but had previously declared his will to run, even against the former historic president.
The one-week deadline is shorter than the one Basha left on June 13th. A party of norms where competition does not prevail and debate is undemocratic.
Contrary to what was said in the December assembly, it is being shown that there is no will to unite but to divide the party.
So according to Kulluri, even the union offered by Berisha, is not sincere, as long as it does not guarantee an honest race, according to the vote. But Eno Bozdo, a member of the Re-establishment Commission, dismisses the criticism.
“The process has started since December, in sections and group sections, the deadlines were changed due to the postponement of the assembly on April 30 and the elections in 6 municipalities”said Bozdo.
Sali Berisha’s move seems tactical. While March 6 confirmed it in the votes, now he wants to take the party structures, isolating Basha only, in his office. But until then, apparently, time will have to pass, as long as the courts do not seem to be lined up behind him, not even all of Basha’s opponents.
