The voting and counting process for the election of the chairman of the Belsh Branch has ended, where Dritan Flamur Cani was declared chairman with 94% of the votes.
Elections according to the principle of one member, one vote have been held in some of the branches of the Democratic Party in the country, while the process is expected to be completed next week. The election of new mayors is an initiative of the Re-establishment group led by Sali Berisha and opposed by the other group that supports Enkelejd Alibeaj.
The commanding chairman of the Democratic Party, Alibeaj, has stated that in this way, Berisha is deepening the division in the Democratic Party and is not contributing to the unification of the party, as the former prime minister claims.
