The Council of Europe has adopted conclusions on candidate and potential candidate countries for membership in the European Union. The Council conclusions also underline that “comprehensive and constructive political dialogue in the country remains crucial in this context as well”, also welcomes the return of the opposition to parliament, Albania’s good progress in the field of rule of law, especially by implementing comprehensive reform in justice, which has progressed steadily, and strengthening the fight against corruption and organized crime.
The Council maintains the same position for Northern Macedonia, where the holding of the first intergovernmental conference is required as soon as possible.
