EU announces more sanctions against Russia, including ban on exports of luxury goods and crackdown on crypto assets
A fourth package of sanctions against Russia for its “ruthless” invasion of Ukraine will be imposed by the European Union tomorrow, the head of the European Commission said on Friday.
On Saturday, the bloc “will take a fourth package of measures to further isolate Russia and deplete the resources it uses to fund this barbaric war,” EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a statement.
“First, we will deny Russia the status of the most favored nation in our markets. This will revoke the significant benefits that Russia enjoys as a member of the WTO. “Russian companies will no longer receive privileged treatment in our economies,” von der Leyen said.
