Albanian farmers produce less milk than their females and this amount is insufficient to supply the market.
The reason is that in Albania there are fewer stables with cattle and small livestock. In the face of this situation, the dairy processing industry has found a solution in the farmers of the region. But apparently this was not the ideal solution, as dairy factories from the region have proposed to bring the final product to Albania instead of the raw material.
“If we continue with the downward trend of leaders, this will make the processing industry go to extinction, because despite the fact that the raw material can be obtained from imports in the long run, the objective of the processing industry is not the import product but the domestic product. Because very soon the companies that bring the import of raw material will no longer bring this product, but will bring the final finished product. ”
After the emptying of the stalls, the milk of the region risks putting the factories and dairies of our country behind.
“Because having high prices of raw materials, having increased costs in electricity, oil, gas and packaging materials, this makes our products not competitive with imported products and we are no longer the most selected of the consumer ”
Farmers are selling a liter of milk for 10-20 lek more, but to save the farms from bankruptcy, the solution is not to increase the price of milk, but to support the farmer.
“The support scheme should be production-oriented. The scheme of 10 lekë per liter of milk must be returned once again. ”
