Durrës / The police operation codenamed “Identity” is finalized.
The operation, by the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in DVP Durrës, in cooperation with the Border Police of the Port of Durrës and the Prosecution at the Durrës Judicial District Court.
The scheme of forgery of documents is revealed, in order to provide assistance for illegal border crossing, in exchange for profit.
The 53-year-old Bulgarian man who organized and carried out the forgery of travel documents, who was able to leave the country, has been identified and declared wanted.
Earlier, in the Port of Durres, as part of this operation, 6 Turkish citizens were arrested, who tried to use forged documents to cross the border.
Following the work to prevent, identify and crack down on criminal activity in the field of forgery of documents in order to cross the border illegally, by the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in DVP Durrës, in cooperation with DRKM Durrës, under the direction of the Prosecution at the Durrës Judicial District Court, in the framework of the police operation codenamed “Identity”, it became possible to identify and declare the Bulgarian citizen FS, 53 years old, wanted.
As a result of the investigative work, the Economic Crime Section confirmed the scheme of forgery of documents and their use.
The 53-year-old is suspected of the criminal offenses “Assistance in illegal border crossing” and “Forgery of identity cards, passports or visas”, as this citizen helped by forging documents, 6 Turkish citizens, who were arrested in flagrante delicto , after trying to cross the border at the Durrës BCP, with forged Bulgarian identity cards, to the Schengen area.
In cooperation with their counterparts, work is underway to apprehend the Bulgarian citizen declared wanted as part of this operation.
The materials were forwarded to the Prosecution at the Durrës Judicial District Court, for further investigation.
