Following a meeting of G7 countries in Germany, the group’s foreign ministers co-signed a statement saying they would continue to exert economic pressure on Russia.
They said this would reinforce Russia’s political isolation. The group also said it would continue to supply arms to Ukraine and work to alleviate the global food shortage.
The G7 consists of the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France and Italy, with the EU also taking part.
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was part of the UK delegation to this week’s summit.
The joint statement states: “We reaffirm our determination to further increase economic and political pressure on Russia by continuing to act in unity.”
