A 51-year-old man has been handcuffed by police after trying to smuggle firearms into Albania.
The Border Police Services of Rinas, as a result of the increase of controls, both at the entrance and exit, in order to catch the wanted persons and those who carry illegal items with them, have passed for a more detailed control, the citizen’s suitcase RH, who had left the US for Albania.
In his suitcase they found and seized as material evidence a pistol firearm and 125 bullets.
Following the actions, by the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes in the Rinas Police Commissariat, the citizen RH, 51 years old, resident in Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto.
The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Tirana Judicial District, for the criminal offenses “Trafficking in weapons and ammunition” and “Illegal possession of weapons”.
