The Municipality of Tirana, with the support of UNICEF Albania, has just completed the Local Social Care Plan 2023-2025, which foresees the approach, human resources and budgets necessary for the proper functioning of integrated services for families and children in need.
This plan responds to those residents who are in need of at least one form of social protection payment services or community social care services.
The drafting of this Plan is based on a careful and detailed analysis of the needs for care and services in the territory of the Municipality of Tirana, on the best practices of the Municipality of Tirana so far in the identification and provision of services, with the aim of providing an economic perspective for families and individuals in social assistance, to provide quality services to categories in need, to extend services to some previously uncovered territories, to create good models of deinstitutionalization of services, of cooperation with government institutions central, especially the health ones, in promoting volunteerism and social responsibility in the community, making maximum use of the advantages created by digitization.
Before approval, the plan is being discussed with interest groups. Non-governmental organizations and representatives of the needy strata have been companions in the process of drafting the plan, giving opinions and suggestions on the final document.
