German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht has confirmed that the country will deliver 15 Gepard tanks to Ukraine in July. Lambrecht in a conversation with Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov agreed to this decision as the war continues.
According to Sky News, it is thought that the Cheetah tanks will be supplied with “sufficient” ammunition. In April, Germany announced that for the first time it would supply Ukraine with heavy weapons, namely Gepard air defense tanks.
This came after critics accused Berlin of dragging its feet on heavy weapons shipments to Kiev. Since then, Germany has promised seven self-propelled grenades in Kiev and has begun training Ukrainian troops with these weapons.
