Two officials of Iran’s aeronautics program, including a member of the Revolutionary Guard, were martyred while carrying out the missions, the local state news agency Fars said today.
Ali Kamani, a member of the Revolutionary Race aeronautical division had lost his life in the city of Khomein in Iran’s central Iranian province of Markazi, Fars said, citing the army statement, without giving further details.
London-based Iranian opposition agency Iran International said yesterday that Kamani had died in a car accident.
In another incident, Mohammad Abdous, a 33-year-old member of the aeronautical force, died in the northern province of Semnan while on a “mission,” Fars said.
The Semnan Space Center reportedly conducts satellite launches and ballistic missile tests.
Two weeks ago, Colonel Ali Esmailzadeh, a senior Revolutionary Guard official, died in an “accident at his home,” the Iranian state news agency IRNA reported.
On May 22, 2022, Colonel Sayyad Khodai, 50, was killed in an assassination attempt outside his home in Tehran by motorcyclists.
For the latter, Iran accused the “Israeli Zionists” of being responsible for the assassination of Khodai and vowed revenge.
The New York Times later reported that Israel had admitted responsibility for Khodai’s assassination.
Iranian television said Khodai was a member of the Revolutionary Guard and was “known” in Syria, where Iran has stationed several military advisers.
