It looks like soap, but it is tritol and it is brought to the spectrum of chemical analysis to be analyzed for the investigation of explosives, where elements that remain from an explosion are also brought.
Currently, Ballistics and Chemistry are dealing together with the murder by explosion of Aleksandër Sadikaj, who was massacred to death by a quantity of tritol, reports journalist Anila Hoxha for “Top Story” from the department of chemical examinations at the Scientific Police Institute.
“The quantity is determined by guesswork. In these cases, the team is mixed because everyone needs to find out what happens and what are the elements that need to be evaluated”, says expert Niko Brahimaj.
Among dozens of crimes starting from the most banal and classified for weak motives to the most sophisticated ones, providing evidence at the scene is considered the most important and unrepeatable moment.
The first thing that the experts of the Scientific Police Institute look for are fingerprints, which in many cases have been found on cigarette butts and in others even on the victim’s clothes. In Albania, the police have the fingerprints of 450,000 Albanian citizens, typed during detention or arrest for theft, robbery, murder and other cartelized crimes.
These traces have a unique criminal number, while it is not allowed to withdraw the traces that citizens have given to be equipped with identity cards.
