Kosovo will have to join the countries of the region within the Open Balkans.
The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj in an interview with Top Channel says that Kosovo’s accession to the Open Balkans is necessary.
Hoxhaj adds that in economic terms, trade with Serbia should not scare anyone. However, he rejects the arguments of the Government of Kosovo that says that non-participation is related to the unequal treatment of Kosovo in this initiative.
The refusal to become part of the Open Balkans has consequences in many aspects, further argued the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoxhaj, since according to him, participation in this regional initiative is decided by the Washington Agreement.
Hoxhaj has also asked other opposition parties to look further into the Open Balkans, in order to persuade the Government to give up the country’s isolation.
According to the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, this is the last moment for the Government of Kosovo to reflect and show that it is cooperative.
