Kosovo Police has drafted an operational plan for the progress of the Vidovdan holiday in Gazimestan.
According to this institution, there will be roadblocks to allow Serbian visitors easy access to the place where the event is held.
Vidovdan has been celebrated by Serbs for centuries in honor of the Battle of Kosovo, for whom it was a spiritual victory.
This is the operational plan:
* Preparation and undertaking of the necessary planning, coordination, preventive and operational measures in order for the manifestation to take place within the normal framework of public order and tranquility.
* Increase of security measures to guarantee public order, peace and security, before, during and after the manifestation of ‘Vidovdan’.
* Guaranteeing the freedom of movement and participation in the rally / manifestation for all interested citizens.
* Control and management of traffic flow on all highways, regional and local.
* Commitment of police units for re-orientation of traffic on those roads where there may be temporary interruptions of the road or any lane, during the time of the event, starting in Gracanica in the morning and then in Gazimestan at noon until at the end.
* Accompanying and securing escorts and special groups according to the itinerary.
* Informing the citizens through the information leaflet (in two languages) with the instructions and the progress of the manifestation.
* Enforcement of legal competencies and authorizations, in the face of various situations and taking measures against all violators of the law, in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kosovo.
