Tuesday’s meeting in Brussels between the delegations of Kosovo and Serbia was finalized with the achievement of the implementation of the energy agreement between the two countries, in the framework of the dialogue facilitated by the European Union.
The news was confirmed by the EU Special Envoy for Dialogue, Mirolslav Lajcak. While the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, says that this agreement enables the billing of electricity in the four northern municipalities of Kosovo, according to the regulatory system of Kosovo.
The agreement was also welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti.
“This is the result of our tireless work and our principled attitudes based on the law and constitutionality of Kosovo, based on our rules, there has finally been an agreement on the implementation of the roadmap that will enable the collection of energy spent in the north of Iber river ”.
The parties are now expected to agree on preparations for a high-level meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Initially, on Tuesday, bilateral meetings were held between the EU Special Envoy for Dialogue, Mirolslav Lajçak, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, who is the head of the Kosovo delegation for dialogue, and Lajçak also had meetings with the head of the Serbian delegation, Petar Petkovic.
Today’s meetings in the framework of the dialogue are taking place just two days before a meeting of the leaders of the Western Balkan countries and those of the 27 member states of the European Union takes place in Brussels.
