Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not refused any meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyn.
He stressed that Russia’s proposals have been received by the Ukrainian side, while already awaiting their response.
“They wanted to create something like a contact group, to bring France, Putin has not refused any meeting with Zelensky. “Our proposals have been received from the Ukrainian side, we are waiting for their response.” said Lavrov.
Lavrov also said that the information that there are people being held hostage in Crimea is untrue.
“There are no abductions of any members of the local authorities from Crimea. I also heard yesterday that the mayor of Kiev has been kidnapped, or a member of the Ukrainian team has been killed. You may also use concrete names, but I will investigate. “The Pentagon has set up biological weapons laboratories in Ukraine in violation of the Toxic and Biological Weapons Convention.” said Lavrov.
According to him, Ukraine belongs to Russia and the demilitarization operation is taking place for a friendly country that does not pose a threat.
“Ukraine is ours and we will decide what it will be. Putin has clearly described why he called for a military operation. We want a friendly demilitarized Ukraine, which does not pose a threat, which is not a Nazi country, this is reflected in all our appeals, the Western allies, there was the exception of the Russian language, the Russian Orthodox churches“, Said Lavrov.
Regarding the statement of Kuleb, who said that there was no agreement with Russia, he said that he is not surprised and that if it is done in this way the goals to reach a common point have failed.
“I am not surprised that Kuleba said there is no agreement, in fact the meeting was not about a ceasefire. If he tells reporters so, our intentions have failed then. “We remember that Ukraine stole our gas, while Europe accused us of using gas, we will continue to have markets.” said Lavrov.
This Thursday marked the 15th day of the war in Ukraine. The meeting in Antalya, Turkey between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba ended without an agreement between the two countries.
Russia has escalated attacks on civilians as Ukrainians rushed to flee through evacuation corridors. On Wednesday evening, the Russians bombed a maternity hospital in Mariupol, where it is reported that so far at least 17 people have been injured and three have died, including a child.
