The Russian Defense Ministry announced the deployment of a local ceasefire in the port city of Mariupol, turned into a ruin by the bombing.
The ceasefire will allow the evacuation of civilians, which will be carried out through a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to Zaporizhia. The crossing will take place through the Russian-controlled port of Berdiansk.

The status of Donbas is one of the issues that hinders the finding of a consensus between the parties to the conflict. Peace talks resume on April 1, as confirmed by Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia. Once again, the talks will be conducted through a video link. Arakhamia explained that Ukraine had insisted on a meeting between the leaders of the two countries, but Russia says work on the draft agreement still needs to be worked on. According to the UN, since the beginning of the war, 1,150 civilians have lost their lives in Ukraine, 103 of whom are children.
