He says ‘open the door, do not wait for me to be released’, as we have always talked and he has been very calm… He has also said everything that is necessary for our people, for the homeland he will do every time. The individual issue of Nasim is not in question“, Says Haradinaj.
She says that even in other visits and telephone communications they had with Haradinaj during this time during the trial in The Hague, Nasimi has always been calm.
According to her, this sentence has been expected since the day he was “arrested”.
“For me and for Nasim, it was expected, that from the first day when Nasim was taken, when he was kidnapped, it was unfair. If the other had happened, I would have been surprised. Here he is showing that there is no justice at all in that court there is not“, She says.
Amidst the emotions, Findlone Haradinaj says that she is irritated with the statement of the prosecutor who spoke on behalf of the people.
“I have always been focused on seeing only Nasim. The word that impressed and irritated me was the word of the prosecutor, when he said ‘on behalf of the people’. You can not condemn Nasim who does everything for the people, in the name of the people. The people do not condemn Nasim, only Serbia condemns those who cooperate with Serbia. It has been very heavy for me. That they sentence Nasim to four and a half years seems to me like Serbia sentencing. “Neither I nor Nasimi expect anything from Serbia.”she adds.
She also comments on the appearance of her husband, who all the time was smiling and wearing collars with the red and black eagle.
“Just like Nasimi. Nasim has been himself. Nasim is proud and proud, with his people, with the KLA war and for that he does everything to protect justice and the truth to come out. Since the war waged by the KLA was right, we did not go to Belgrade to fight but we defended our lands, our homes, we were occupied. Serbia has come to us to occupy and massacre us, if the Serbs who committed crimes were brought to justice, plus those who submitted the documents if they were convicted, it would be reasonable. To punish the third party, after nothing, is meaningless. “This to me is a scandal happening in Europe at this time.” she says.
Nasim’s wife, Ketlonja says that the lawyer will appeal this decision.
She reiterates as a family the position against the mandate of the Special Court, where she emphasizes that she is devoting herself to her family and the state of Kosovo.
“Nasimi was against, but we as a family are against this wrong decision that will cost family members and the state of Kosovo. To equate the victim with the occupier, this is disturbing, very disturbing. I hope that the institutions will think of something for Kosovo. This costs Kosovo… I seek justice, but I do not know where to seek justice. “Our army has never committed crimes, we have never had the opportunity to commit crimes, everyone knows.”she concludes.
Nasim Haradinaj and Hysni Gucati were sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison, counting the time spent in detention on remand and a fine of 100 euros which must be paid by July 18, 2022. They were found guilty of the same points of the indictment while innocent of the point of revenge.
