Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to all the criticism regarding the National Council whether or not their opinion will be taken into account.
Through a post on social networks, Rama writes that this initiative is not an old idea, but a new practice of this mandate.
The head of government says that filling out the forms would not cost anything to the citizens, while adding that the government itself has dilemmas over the 12 issues raised in this initiative.
Further, Rama writes that time will show the seriousness of this initiative, while adding: “Let us give a chance to this new endeavor, where dealing with politics is not swearing, accusation, disruption, fanaticism, hassle, who we are we and who you are, is a discussion with humanity and patriotism, on very concrete issues that require concrete decision-making.
Post by Prime Minister Rama:
I have encountered during these days some who comment here, that the National Consultation should have taken place at the beginning of the first term, not the third. How good it would be for people to know everything from the beginning of each job, but the job teaches us a lot of new things. So this is not an old idea, but a new practice of this new mandate. The National Council is a new expression of goodwill, to include in our decisions citizens without party differences.
Some write that they do not complete the questionnaire because they have no confidence that their opinions can be taken into account. Believe and control, says the People. It does not cost anything to believe giving opinions on the 12 issues raised for consultation, compared to spending time on comments that may be left for later. Let’s leave time after the end of this first consultation, to show with facts how seriously the government takes this process. Until then I can only say that we would have no reason to undertake this new initiative if we did not take its purpose very seriously.
Others say they are not the right questions or that other questions were needed. We have openly and honestly expressed our dilemmas on those 12 issues. Perhaps when we return to this for the first time in two or three years, we will think that it could have been better conceived, better organized, better explained, and so on. Because work can teach us things we can not imagine today. But I modestly believe that this is not a reason not to give an opinion on these issues.
After all, when did the government ask the citizens of this country so directly, door to door? Let’s give a chance to this new endeavor, where getting involved in politics is not swearing, accusation, disruption, fanaticism, hassle, who we are and who you are, but it is a discussion with humanity and patriotism, on very concrete issues that require concrete decision-making. Please give your opinion on the link www.keshillimikombetar.al and join the 164,851 citizens who until last night were included in this popular assembly. Let us listen to each other more, learn from each other, cooperate with each other to support each other, as people, as citizens, as Albanians
