The West should increase arms supplies to Ukraine and commit to helping the country’s military war, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on June 15.
Austin chaired a meeting in Brussels of nearly fifty countries, committed to supporting Ukraine to consider what more could be done.
He called on more than 45 participating countries to show “unwavering determination to provide Ukraine with the urgent assistance it needs to defend itself.”

The meeting was held on the opening day of a two-day meeting of NATO defense ministers at the alliance headquarters.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on June 14 called for larger and faster deliveries of Western weapons, particularly missile defense systems.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, who attended the meeting in Brussels convened by the US Secretary of Defense, said he was grateful for all the military assistance that nations have already given or promised to Ukraine.
The official NATO meeting is scheduled to begin on the evening of June 15, at which ministers will discuss Sweden and Finland’s applications for NATO membership.
