Negotiations between the SP and the DP for the new President of the Republic seem to have returned to zero.
The head of the PD parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, announced the cancellation of the meeting of the Democratic parliamentary group, where the candidacies for president of the Republic would be discussed, accusing the Socialists of changing their position.
Alibeaj said that the SP wanted to steal the process and exercise their power in the Presidency as well.
He stressed that the candidates proposed by the DP were not involved in illegal processes, like the SP.
After Alibeaj’s statement, the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla told us that the SP has not broken any agreement, inviting the opposition to return to the table to discuss all the names.
Reminding the opposition that there are several days in the second round, Balla stressed that the second and third rounds belong only to the opposition, emphasizing that if the president is not elected by the third, then the majority will nominate the candidate.
